Book Club Begins

The Brookville Church Book Club had its second meeting this Sunday (10/29) after church. We had 5 members, and the discussion when very well. We are reading the book Reading the Bible Again for the First Time, by Marcus Borg. This book club will continue through the first of the year. After it is completed either an Adult Bible Study or another book club will begin in February. If you are interested in either of those let me know.

Youth Group Begins!

The new Brookville Church Youth Group will begin on Sunday, October 29th at 7:00 pm. Any Youth from 7th Grade up are eligible. We will be meeting every other Sunday at 7:00 from now on. The goal of the youth group is have two meeting a month that will involve fun activities and bible study, as well as plan a fun event and a service event for each month. Be There!

Common Grounds Coffee House

Friday September 27th at 7:30 p.m. is the first Common Grounds Coffee House event of the new season. This will be a sampling of some groups and individuals that have performed before and some that will be performing on future nights. Come and enjoy some fellowship, conversation, entertainment and snacks.

Confirmation Class Visits Bronx Soup Kitchen

Last Sunday after church the Members of the 2007 Confirmation class ate lunch at a community kitchen called Part of the Solution in the Bronx. The students will be reporting on their experiences during church this Sunday. As well as providing 2 meals a day, 7 days a week, free of charge, to any visitor, Part of the Solution also provides free medical and legal services, free haircuts and clothing, and operates a food pantry.
